My work office is slowly but surely being emptied. I'm down to one filing cabinet drawer and one desk drawer that still have stuff in them, plus a few things on the desk and still the books to give to the student club. I gave away on the order of, oh, 200-300 books today. About 3/4 of the nonfiction went, very little of the fiction (one grad student commented that if zie took fiction, zie will read it ahead of the stuff that is necessary, so was refraining). Just got a call about one of the academic-library positions; not a librarian position, but the circulation-manager one. The woman I spoke to indicated that they were going to be posting several actual librarian positions soon and warned me that if I were offered and took this job, I couldn't apply for any of those until I'd been in the job at least ( Read more... )
